Welcome back to the second half of today’s featured wedding in Washington DC. If is candlelight and cozy beauty that you are looking for, you’ve come to the right spot! Zoe and Chris said “I do” at Meridian House in Washington DC, where they also celebrated their elegant wedding ceremony. In case you missed their sweet wedding ceremony, be sure to check it out here. When it came time to kick off their wedding reception, their wedding planner, A. Dominick Events, executed the day with beautiful rustic details in white and green. Petite floral arrangements and the sweetest leaves tucked into the napkin treatments donned the tabletops, as did oodles of candles to set the romantic scene. The couple wanted to feel cozy and elegant in their wedding day and with the help of jazz musicians and old fashioned cocktails, they succeeded in wining and dining their guests to perfection! I love Zoe’s advice for other Washington DC area couples – you’ll have to keep reading to find out what you need to do before your big day! A special thanks to their wedding photographer, Kathy Blanchard for sharing Zoe and Chris’ Washington DC wedding photos with us.

From the bride: We wanted our wedding to feel elegant, romantic and cozy. The beautiful white and green floral arrangements scattered with small candles on long banquet tables were the perfect look for our wedding, especially with Camellia leaves tucked into the napkins and amazing calligraphy by a friend. We had a jazz duo play during dinner and pear old fashioned cocktails served at cocktail hour. Our wedding was exactly what we pictured!

We knew we wanted a band, and it was important to us that the food didn’t taste like “wedding food.” Our band and caterer did not disappoint on our wedding day! The toasts at dinner were so perfect and touching! At the end of the night we were both just so happy to be married. Everything about our wedding turned out perfectly.

Advice from the bride for other Washington DC area couples:

Practice feeding each other wedding cake! Our photos are so ridiculous, because we were both trying to feed each other simultaneously, but not make a mess!
