Good morning, wedding lovers, I hope you are ready for something pretty this morning as we head down south for a lovely wedding in Charlottesville. Kristin and Scott wed on a rainy summer day in Charlottesville, Virginia at the beautiful King Family Vineyards property. Luckily for these lovebirds, the weather parted just in time for them to say “I do” outdoors in the vineyard, just as they had imagined. And, it was picture perfect, to say the least! The couple opted for a rustic elegant wedding design, with personal touches all around, including their beautiful wedding invitations designed by the bride’s best friend. Even though it is a short distance from DC, Kristin and Scott opted for the destination wedding feel of Charlottesville after one peak of the gorgeous Virginia countryside and we can certainly see why! Their wedding guests were able to get out of the city and enjoy a beautiful weekend together celebrating their union. Their wedding planners, A. Dominick Events, shared Kristin and Scott’s big day with us and helped make it a memorable one. And, special thanks to Gabe Aceves for allowing us to feature Kristin and Scott’s lovely Virginia wedding photos!

From the bride: Charlottesville seemed like the perfect weekend getaway location for our wedding, as it is only a few hours outside of Washington DC. We were so in love with the mountains in Charlottesville and King Family Vineyard, the incredible view there really spoke to us. It felt so right to create the feeling we were hoping to capture in our wedding.

We both spent the morning of our wedding day with our families and our wedding parties and enjoyed the time with so many of our friends from all over the country. We were both more nervous on the wedding day than we expected, but we felt so much calmer once we saw each other for the first look pictures. That was a really great feeling.

My best friend designed our entire wedding invitation suite and we picked vintage stamps that represented VA (our home), Maryland (my home state), and NY (his home state). I still look at how beautiful the wedding invitations and envelopes turned out.

The morning of our wedding was a bit overcast, but when we started heading to the vineyard for the wedding ceremony, it started to rain pretty hard. That was a tough moment for both of us since we were really counting on getting married outside in front of the Blue Ridge mountains. We spent time taking pictures inside and talking with the wedding party and family, and then once I was back in the bridal suite tucked away with my girls, Scott ran in to tell me that the rain had passed and we could get married outside! He was so happy to share the news with me and it really felt like a sign from above. The weather lasted just long enough for our wedding ceremony and cocktail reception and created a beautiful backdrop of clouds over the Blue Ridge landscape.

We planned our wedding to feel relaxed, enjoyable, and to really speak to the two of us, and our relationship. The views at our wedding ceremony were perfect and everyone was amazed at how the weather cleared just at the right time.
