Good morning Washington DC area! Get ready for a bright burst of color with a magical garden inspiration with today’s featured wedding in the city! Katherine and Owen held their Washington DC wedding ceremony at the beautiful Shrine of the Most Blessed Sacrament surrounded by a large group of their loved ones. Katherine’s bridesmaid donned bright blue dresses while everyone in their wedding party (including the bride) carried a pop of pretty in pink in their bouquets. The couple opted for formal wedding day florals in the church with grand white and green statement floral pieces at the altar and then letting the stunning setting speak for itself. You can feel in Katherine and Owen’s wedding day photos that the love was bursting at the seams, and it shows as soon as everyone departs the space to celebrate their exit from the ceremony, complete with streamers and wands. Then it was off to Andrew W. Mellon Auditorium in downtown DC for a garden-inspired wedding reception (which we’ll show you next!). My favorite photo from their ceremony might have to include the darling ring bearer standing along side his older counterparts, looking like any young gentleman would in a wedding ceremony! A special thanks to their DC wedding planners, A. Dominick Events, and their photographer, Greg Gibson, for sharing Katherine and Owen’s DC wedding with us!
From the bride: Our wedding day priorities were that everyone have a great time! As such, we focused on the music, food, and wine (coincidentally my three great loves in life after Owen!). Flowers were really important to my mom, and wine to my father, so we splurged on those items. I don’t think we skipped on much of anything—we really went all out for our wedding!
Congratulations to Katherine and Owen! Thank you for sharing your elegant, church wedding ceremony in Washington DC with us! Stay tuned, up next you’ll see their indoor wedding reception turned incredible garden space!
