Mark and Colleen hosted a fabulously cheerful and bright country club wedding in Maryland at Bretton Woods, where their navy and yellow palette screamed “Celebrate!”  Their wedding had all the elements to make for a perfectly festive and fun evening, with lots of love and special moments too – including all of their high school friends! From the handmade signs and special lace on the bride’s bouquet, no detail was left undone! Mark and Colleen outdid themselves with design elements that we just can’t get enough of! And speaking of can’t get enough, don’t forget to check out their sunny outdoor wedding ceremony.  Special thanks to wedding photographer, Colleen Losh Photography, for giving us a glimpse into such a special big day!

From Colleen: Our main priority was throwing a fun and enjoyable party for our guests. Mark and I went to high school together and still spend time with our group of high school friends, so we were looking forward to having our friends there to celebrate with us, as well as our family and family friends.

With the help of my mom and sister, we made the guest favors, place card holders, and a variety of signs and decor for the wedding reception. Our friend is an artist and she created the design for all of the wedding stationery, which I then ordered from a printer. My mom removed the lace from her wedding dress to be wrapped around my bouquet, adding a special touch.

Colleen had a few words of wisdom for Washington DC area couples getting married:

We planned our wedding in less than a year and it does not have to be a stressful time. Almost every wedding vendor we hired we knew personally or received referrals from friends, which was very helpful in maintaining personal relationships during wedding planning. Staying organized and flexible certainly helps!

I know that everyone says it, but the day really does fly by so try to enjoy every moment. Remember that even if something does not go as planned, as long as you are getting married surrounded by friends and family, it will be perfect.
