Do you want to know a little secret? Classic weddings in Washington DC have a special place in my heart, and I have a feeling that won’t change any time soon! Maybe it’s the traditional elegance or maybe it’s sweet moments shared by two lovebirds—I can’t get enough! Danielle and Andrew’s had a classic winter wedding planned by Elegance & Simplicity that celebrated their love of each other and their love of Washington, DC. (Before you go on though, be sure to check out their wedding ceremony in DC right here!) Thanks to Beth T. Photography we can share in that joy with these gorgeous photos!
From Danielle: We went with a traditional blue and silver color scheme for the winter.
We chose silver linens and silver rimmed china with white chiavari chairs to keep the room from being overwhelming and just did blue uplighting on the walls.
We also chose Manzanita branches for the table centerpieces with orchids in the tall vases supporting them and blue flowers in other table’s centerpieces to tie in a little more blue to the room.
Danielle’s wedding planning advice for other DC-area couples:
Don’t be afraid of winter weddings because DC area weddings can get really expensive and if you do want that downtown experience (like I did!) then a winter wedding (or a Friday or Sunday wedding!)) may make it possible for you.
