OK – I’ll just say it: I love rustic weddings. So, when I first saw Julie and Michael’s wedding in Virginia, I just about jumped for joy. Elegance meets rustic for their autumn celebration of marriage, and I’m loving every last detail. Gorgeous calligraphy, miniature champagne favors and a pie dessert bar—what’s not to love!? From Julie: “Fancy Farm” – that quickly became the phrase we used to describe what we wanted the feel of our wedding to be. We wanted the event to be rustic, but upscale, warm and inviting. There were only a few specifics we really wanted in terms of the design and decor – long tables, lots of candles and soft fall colors.

Julie’s wedding planning advice for other DC-area couples:

Pick a few things that are really important to you, but don’t stress about the rest! And if you’re not particularly crafty or handy (like us!), hire a wedding planner! It will save you a lot of headaches.
