It’s official. I have fallen head over heels for this timeless wedding in Washington DC. Jessica and Brian planned a sophisticated soirée with a soft and romantic color palette of blush, ivory and gold—and plenty o’ sparkle! DuHon Photography was behind the lens to capture their dreamy ceremony where they exchanged vows under a beautiful iron arbor at The St. Regis Hotel, complete with pink and white peonies, roses and ranunculus. It’s basically my dreamy wedding come true planned to perfection by Kelley Cannon Events! Come back later this morning to see their classic ballroom reception!
From Jessica: Brian and I wanted our wedding to be timeless, romantic, elegant and fun! To accomplish this, we chose a soft color palette of blush, gold, and ivory. I also love anything that sparkles, so we incorporated touches of glitter.
Brian and I wanted to get married outside, so we were lucky enough to find a venue in DC that allowed for that. We fell in love with the St. Regis’ beautiful Astor Pavilion, so we wanted to use that space as much as possible. We wrote our own vows and read them to each other under a beautiful iron arbor, adorned with gorgeous pink and white peonies, roses and ranunculus.
A special element of our wedding was that Brian’s father was our officiant. During the planning process, we were having difficulty finding the right person to officiate our wedding. Since Brian and I have been dating since we were in middle school, we wanted somebody to marry us who was close to our hearts and knew the history of our relationship. My father-in-law jokingly offered to take on the role, but it was not long before my his joke became a reality and Brian’s father became ordained in order to make our wish come true. This special moment made for an intimate ceremony, as my father gave me away with my father-in-law standing before him. It symbolized the unification of our families and the love we have for them.
