Welcome back to the second half of Jessica and Brian’s classic wedding in Washington DC. Their blush and gold ballroom reception was chocked full of pink peonies galore and it’s my wedding blogger duty to make sure we swoon over each gorgeous photo brought you to by DuHon Photography. From the romantic fabric draped dance floor to the sweet calligraphy on drink flags at cocktail hour, this classic wedding planned by Kelley Cannon Events is going straight to my “Dream Wedding” Pinterest board—no shame!

From Jessica: We envisioned our ceremony and reception to be a celebration of our love and we wanted our guests to truly enjoy themselves. So, as our family and friends arrived, they were greeted by the charming St. Regis staff and a champagne cocktail topped with a glittery, candied rim.

Not only do I love peonies because of their beauty, but they also represent a “happy marriage,” so in addition to the beautiful blooms being a focus during the ceremony, they were in all of the centerpieces and we also included gold peony napkin rings to complete the place settings.

After finishing a delicious dinner in the beautiful Astor Ballroom, guests were ushered back out to the terrace, which had been completely transformed. Lounge furniture was brought in from AFR and above the dance floor hung a canopy of twinkling lights and draping, which set the tone for everyone to dance the night away under the stars. If I had to choose two elements that stood out, it would be the florals and the transformation of the terrace.

Sliders and mini milkshakes were served to our guests during the reception for a surprise, late-night snacks!

Jessica’s wedding planning advice for other DC-area couples:

I stressed out WAY too much during the planning process. It goes by so fast and it only happens once, so enjoy it!
