Happy Monday, darlings! I know it’s only officially spring next week, but I can’t wait a minute longer especially with the bright and fresh color palette that today’s wedding in Maryland brings. With soft hues of mint and coral, Cristina and Gonzalo planned a fun celebration with a color palette to match. It’s the perfect pop of color, don’t you think? The result is a summer wedding that pairs lots of fab DIY wedding details and tons of color, all beautifully captured by Elizabeth Fogarty Photography!
From Cristina: I loved the idea for vintage colors for summer so we went with coral, mint and gold. Gold has always been my favorite metal, even our rings were gold. It worked because my husband was marrying in his Navy whites and the bright colors worked with that and his groomsmen’s light grey tuxes.
I designed our wedding invitations and our programs. The program fans we printed, painted and assembled.
The best and most challenging DIY I did was making our own bouquets. I bought faux flowers from Michaels, so many flowers! I spray painted gold chevrons on the white bows on each bouquet and I made all the bouquets for the bridesmaids and for me! It was the best life choice for me because I made them months in advance (and bought them on holiday sales!) and didn’t have to worry at all about them on the big day. They also made perfect personal gifts for my bridesmaids to keep.
For the ceremony we kept it simple since it would be naturally decorated by the outdoors, trees, sky and our church building was the backdrop. We decorated the arch and decorations for the aisle chairs. Also our wedding party gave it the perfect touch dressed in the wedding colors.
