Happy Monday, darlings! I am so excited for today’s wedding in Maryland because it has me longing for summer. That’s right, I’m skipping right over spring and dreaming of my favorite season with Amanda and Matt’s outdoor vineyard wedding in Maryland. Their summer love affair was overflowing with pretty DIY details and preppy shades of navy and pink captured by Look Wedding Photography! I simply can’t get enough! Come back later this morning to check out all the pretty from their rustic reception!

From Amanda: Our wedding was full of personal details and a lot of DIY, both to save money, and because we have some very crafty people in our families! First, my bridal bouquet was wrapped in the sleeve of my mother’s wedding dress, which counted as my “something old.”

My uncle hand-panted all the chalk-board signs we made for directing guests around the venue. My maid of honor and I created our program fans in an afternoon filled with Popsicle sticks and glue.

We had baskets of sunglasses at the entrance to our ceremony site, which turned out to be very practical since it was so sunny, and also a lot of fun for guests to match their glasses with their outfits.

Matt and I designed our own ceremony, and opted for a nondenominational, hand-fasting ceremony. Because of my Irish heritage, we had a hand-fasting ceremony (as this is supposedly where the term “tie the know” came from) to symbolize our union, uniting our hands with a ribbon covered in messages from our family and friends. We wrote our own vows separately, and somehow ended up saying the same thing (we both love football, and vowed to cheer for the other’s team, except for when they were playing each other).
