Are you ready for more rustic romance from Danielle and Melissa’s barn wedding in Maryland? (Don’t go out without checking out their outdoor wedding ceremony first!) Their barn wedding venue set the stage for an evening filled with laid-back elegance of a gathering of mason jars centerpieces, a game of corn hole for guests, a cake bar and, of course, a few goats! And, lucky for us, Sarah Jane Winter was behind the lens to capture every sweet moment!

From Danielle: We knew that we wanted the feel of the day to be inclusive and warm, laid-back and genuine (with a subtle attention-to-detail that would take it from pulled-together to polished). The beautiful venue was the foundation of that concept, and a nod to both of our Southern roots. And who wouldn’t want a few adorable goats at their wedding?

After we picked the venue, a BBQ food truck (we highly recommend BBQ Bus!) and a one-man Delta blues band (the amazing Curtis Blues!) were no-brainers—simple, fun, cost-effective.

Danielle’s wedding planning advice for other DC-area couples:

We actually got engaged in 2012, and took the next two years to plan our wedding. As long as it seems, having to wait 2 years for our big day was perfect for our situation—it gave us time to save money (and find the best vendors within our budget!), plan little-by-little without stress (since both of us work full-time), and navigate some delicate family sentiments.
