I hope you’re enjoying your day off work and (hopefully!) getting some wedding planning done! In honor of Veterans Day and military wedding week, we’re revisiting some of our favorite real weddings in the DMV. It’s been a fabulous four years on the blog – so many beautiful weddings and couples made it hard to choose favorites! For today, we’ve picked a few favorite military weddings.

This military wedding is a favorite of our editor, Juli! It doesn’t get any sweeter than Heather and Gabriel’s intimate wedding in Old Town Alexandria. With Jessica Veltri Photography behind the camera to capture ever sweet moment, this cute duo kept it small and personal with an outdoor garden ceremony and a dinner celebration with their nearest and dearest. (And, they were married on a weekday – such a great money-saving idea!)

Margo and Mike may now be newlyweds stationed in Japan, but their military wedding in Washington DC, captured by Melissa Arlena Photography, celebrated all things Americana! With a family history with the military wedding, the groom being a Marine himself, a blue and white palette (popped with red!), a venue celebrating the Marines, The National Museum of the Marine Corps, was the perfect choice for their big day.

Arielle and Eric’s adorably offbeat and vintage-inspired wedding from Luke Eshleman Photography is too cute for words! Before their ceremony, they began the day with some lovely portraits on the Metro and the National Gallery of Art. How fun are they!?

There is something about a classic, elegant military wedding that really gets me! Marie and Scott used their historic, bayside locale as inspiration for their wedding palette and feel, and what a good choice that was! Their nautical-inspired palette featured pops of bright green and a cake decorated with sea shells, all captured beautifully by Megan Beth Photography.
