Good Monday morning to you, our lovely readers! In honor of Veterans Day (tomorrow!) and of all of our troops that are fighting abroad, we’d like to do our part to honor all the men and women in uniform with military wedding week! Today, we’re kicking off this week-long celebration of gorgeous local military weddings with this classic wedding in Virginia. Kayla and Bryan planned a simple celebration of love in only four months before they got word they would be stationed overseas, and they pulled it off without a hitch! Join us this afternoon as we swoon over their pretty in purple reception captured by Genevieve Leiper Photography!

Virginia Military Wedding Personalized Bridal Robe

From Kayla: We wanted a classic, simple fall wedding. My husband is in the Air Force and it was important to me that he wore his uniform. Our colors were navy and plum purple with silver/grey accents.

My favorite memory of our wedding day was exchanging our cards to each other before the ceremony. Throughout our relationship we always left each other cards after our weekends together so it seemed fitting to exchange one last card before we became husband and wife.

My husband and I also wrote our own ceremony script and our vows. We included an Irish hand fasting ceremony as a nod to my husband’s Irish roots.
