For Britney and Patrick, the only design aspect they needed for their intimate wedding in Washington DC at was some DIY wedding flowers and centerpieces… with the help of some crafty friends and family, of course! (Make sure you check our their charming garden wedding ceremony first!) Their simple yet elegant styling allowed what is really important to take center—all the love! SRW Joyce Photography was on hand to capture all the special moments and, lucky for us, there’s a ton of pretty just waiting to inspire!
From Britney: We made all of our centerpieces, which were wild flowers and baby’s breath flowers in mason jars with lace and twine. We also had sliced tree trunks that held other flowers. My dad built little tray boxes to hold the mason jars with flowers and candles that were placed in the center of the table.
An Italian wedding tradition (my mother’s side is half Italian!) is to share Jordan Almonds. My mom put together a decoration for each table setting of a set of 5 pastel Jordan Almonds that represent: health, wealth, happiness, fertility, and longevity.
Britney’s wedding planning advice for other DC-area couples:
I think it is important to do exactly what you want to do! We went back and forth between deciding between having a large or small wedding, and ultimately, we both wanted to have an intimate wedding and I am so glad we did!
