Urban style and local wedding inspiration are the theme of the day! It’s no secret that we love this city of ours, so when it came to creating a fun DIY wedding project, we turned to the city skyline for inspiration. These DIY pop-up skyline place cards are a cute way to infuse a little local love into your wedding weekend festivities. How cute would these be at your rehearsal dinner or morning-after brunch!?
Begin with one blank card stock—I used #10 flat note cards from Paper Source in black. Mark the card stock at the half point along the vertical side. I used a regular pencil and it showed up just fine!
Place a ruler along the marking where you want the card stock to fold. Hold the ruler firmly in place with one hand. Run the pointed tip of a bone folder along the length of the ruler, pressing it firmly down as you go. This will create a perfect fold!
Draw your skyline above the line, but leave just a small space underneath so the card folds easily and the skyline can pop up! Use your craft knife to cut along the outline of your skyline design. I don’t recommend using the knife to cut out windows or design because it can lead to small tears, and we don’t want that!
Write the name of your guest at the bottom and voilà— you’re all done!
