My heart always skips a beat for a black tie wedding! Sarah and Aaron’s wedding in Washington DC, planned by Howerton + Wooten Events, is overflowing with classic elegance and pretty pink details. And, lucky for us, Emily Clack Photography was on hand to capture every lovely detail. (And make sure you check out their traditional wedding ceremony, too!) I just love that their DIY centerpieces were inspired by their guests – each table featured framed photos of the couple with guests to make them feel a part of their big day. Too sweet!

From Sarah: We wanted to have a DC wedding that made our out-of-town guests feel welcomed and important. We picked a reception venue that was in Dupont Circle and made it easy for our guests to walk between the church, reception site and back to their hotel.

We tried to include details that would make them know that we considered them. Our DIY centerpieces included home made frames that included us with family and friends. We planned it so that our guests had pictures of us and them on their table!

Sarah’s wedding planning advice for other DC-area couples:

It is important to think about what your priorities are and then have that guide your planning. For us, we wanted to consider what would be important to our guests feeling comfortable.
