It may be September, but we’ve still got summer on our minds. And Athena and Ray’s gorgeous wedding in Virginia is just what we need. (Be sure to check out their outdoor wedding ceremony, too!) Their classic summer reception at Historic Whitehall Manor is overflowing with pretty. Think vintage décor paired with green and white florals — it’s a good one, folks. Planned by Pretty Entertaining, Spence Photographics was on hand to capture every sweet, summery moment that will have you wishing you were outdoors all day long! This is how every Tuesday should start if you ask me!
From Athena: All of the vintage decor was from Ray’s grandparents. The wedding cake topper was from my great aunt. We had a couple of Greek dances and Greek desserts to represent my Greek heritage.
The invitations, programs, and escort cards were designed by Ray (with my input of course!).
Athena’s wedding planning advice for other DC-area couples:
Don’t take on more than you can handle – this will probably be the biggest party you ever plan. And since most of us don’t plan weddings for a living, there are probably things you will overlook/forget about. Hiring a wedding planner is definitely the way to go to make sure that your big day runs smoothly.
