Welcome back to the second part of Sarah and Stephen’s wedding in Maryland on the Eastern Shore. I hope you that you brought your dancing shoes, because in addition to all of the gorgeous florals and these dreamy portraits I was telling you about, this couple threw quite a party for their friends and family. (In case you missed their outdoor wedding ceremony, be sure to check out first, you won’t want to miss it! Cassidy DuHon Photography was there to capture every beautiful moment!
From Sarah: I had three main priorities: 1) music, 2) food, and 3) a beautiful ceremony site. We splurged on a 10-piece motown band – ‘Round Midnight. They were absolutely amazing and really kept up the energy during the reception. We had heard that the food at The Oaks was incredible, which it was! Our wedding cake was created by my Uncle Paw, and was one of my favorite details. He also created the favors (little chocolate crabs in boxes filled with graham crackers to look like sand) and the surprise groom’s cake (a VT golfball with Hokie feet around the grass)
From Sarah: We had signature drinks called Jamaican Rum Punch to represent our favorite drink while sailing and also in honor of our honeymoon destination!
Sarah’s advice for other couples in the Washington DC area:
My advice would be to take the time to enjoy the reception and dance as much as possible! The day flies by so quickly and you’ve spent so much time planning so it’s okay if you try your best to talk to everyone but eventually just stop and have fun!
Thank you so much Sarah and Stephen for sharing your wedding ceremony with us! Be sure to come back later this morning to see their reception. The following Washington DC area wedding professionals contributed to their wedding:
