When two lovebirds residing in Chicago plan a destination wedding in Washington DC, lovely things are bound to happen. Mike and Katie, who grew up in the Washington DC-area, planned a wedding weekend that would feel like a vacation for their out-of-town guests, while also maintaining that classic DC atmosphere. Beth T. Photography captured their day so beautifully that I’ll be at my desk all morning soaking in all this pretty, like those sparkly gold heels Katie wore. I think I may need a pair! Be sure to come back this afternoon to check out their stunning reception at Sequoia.
From Katie: I grew up in the Washington D.C. area, but currently live in Chicago where my husband Mike is from. I always knew I wanted to get back home and have the opportunity to showcase our nation’s capital to friends and family on our wedding day. Since half of our guests traveled from out of town, we wanted to ensure the entire weekend was truly a vacation away from home.
Thank you so much Katie and Mike for sharing your wedding ceremony with us! Come back later this morning to see their reception. The following Washington DC area wedding professionals contributed to their wedding:
