If a classic, black-tie wedding makes you weak in the knees, then I suggest you sit down before diving into Maggie and Albert’s gorgeous Washington DC wedding. Timeless and oozing with elegance (and pops of pink!) and planned by Sara of Bella Notte, every image of Maggie and Albert’s classic affair from k. thompson photography has a hold on me. And thanks to the help of a family friend, they were even able to take some stunning wedding portraits on the steps of the Capitol building – lucky ducks! Be sure to join us later this morning to see how their love of Washington DC came through in their wedding details!

From Maggie: Our wedding was at Holy Rosary Church and Hotel Monaco in Washington, DC and we were mainly inspired by two things: 1. Our love of Washington, DC and the fact that this would be a “destination wedding” for most of our family, and 2. The fact that the Hotel Monaco was DC’s Original General Post Office and Tariff building, inspiring us to incorporate small “mail” or “post office” touches in our wedding reception.

I loved taking our photos at the US Capitol! We have a good family friend that as a gift, helped us get access to places most people can’t take photos in, so we felt like celebrities posing on the main steps with both Kelsey and tourists taking our pictures! We were actually supposed to go inside the Capitol, but unfortunately with the Government shutdown, the building was closedl
