I have a confession to make: my fantasy Washington DC wedding (don’t judge me!) would look exactly like this one from Modern Life Portraits. Beautifully timeless and classic to the core, with pops of blush and ivory – I am head over heels! Cathryn and Joshua’s magical day, planned by Aimee and Lauren of A. Dominick Events, began with an interfaith wedding ceremony combining Catholic and Jewish wedding traditions. Come back later this morning to soak in all the pretty from their black-tie affair! And don’t forget to scroll down and check out their wedding trailer video from Bowen Films!
From Cathryn: Josh is Jewish and I’m Catholic, so we were excited about putting together our own interfaith ceremony. We couldn’t have done it without the vital help of Rabbi Shira Stutman at Sixth & I Synagogue and Monsignor Jameson at St. Matthew’s Cathedral. Even at 75 minutes long, we loved our ceremony.
Our ceremony was incredible. We took elements from the Jewish and Catholic traditions and weaved them together for something that felt meaningful to us and our families. There is a stunning photograph of our Jewish huppah on the Catholic altar – it’s become the icon of our wedding. It flowed really nicely, and didn’t feel chaotic or confused as we feared it might.
And now take a peak at their wedding trailer video from Bowen Films…
