Are you ready for a classic and beautifully vintage bridal shower, DMV?! Rachel of Sweet Root Village, LLC threw her business partner Lauren a retro-inspired cocktail party to celebrate her recent marriage. Lauren’s personal touches were all over the place—her favorite flowers, vintage glassware and of course, her sweet friends. The evening was spent listening to great music, showering the bride with gifts and good conversation. Photographer and friend Rebekah J. Murray worked with the ladies at Sweet Root Village to get some snapshots of the evening. And, as a special bonus, we’ll be back later this morning for advice on how to throw a bridal shower!

There were so many personal touches at the shower, including hand-picked armfuls of fuchsia flowers for centerpieces and cute, sweet-smelling take-homes for the guests. Co-hosts arrived in Old Town Alexandria to prepare the room while Lauren slid out to get her hair done at Sugar House, a spa across the street. Lauren and Rachel’s friend Sarah Patch took care of make-up duties.
