Welcome back to the second half of Danielle and Holger’s intimate Washington DC wedding celebration. (Did you see their church wedding ceremony??) I just love the wedding inspiration that comes from spring – the colors, the themes, the flowers! (Spring is near, people – I can feel it through all of this snow)! With just 16 people on their guest list, Danielle and Holger’s wedding photographed by Love Life Images has me feeling all warm and fuzzy inside! They both had out-of-town families and chose to keep their guest list small while managing strike the perfect balance between elegance and simplicity. And, with priority on great food, they definitely didn’t go wrong!
From Danielle: We knew we would have a very small number of people coming, we wanted to keep it intimate. We had 16 guests, so we wanted to pull off a traditional wedding without making any rooms feel too empty or too small.
My favorite details from the wedding were the flowers, they turned out to be more beautiful than I could imagine, the second favorite detail was the place settings. I did not spend extra on fancier table linens and used what the Four Seasons provided and I was very happy with the result.
Main priorities were good food, plenty of it and superior service. We wanted to be sure that we and our guests would be treated well because we had the groom’s family flying in from Germany and the bride’s family all the way in from Florida. So since everyone traveled and incurred the cost to be with us, we wanted to make it special and comfortable.
Danielle’s wedding planning advice for other DC-area couples:
I found that comparing vendor prices to be easier when looking at vendors out of DC. All of my vendors are located in northern Virginia or Maryland and come into the city without an additional cost. Also, have more cash than you think you may need for gratuities the day of the wedding.
