Welcome back to Sharon and Robert’s wedding in DC! Did you miss their traditional Jewish wedding ceremony? Be sure to go back and check that out! Having a wedding right on DuPont Circle made for some really fun and classic DC portraits in between their ceremony and reception. For their reception, Marcella Treybig Photography was their to capture all of the fun from their first dance to The Boss to their ice cream sundae — this couple seriously knows how to have a good time! A glow stick farewell was the perfect end to a gorgeous day!

From Sharon: Rob and I are extreme planners – we’re always the organizers, coordinating events far in advance, being very “practical.” We had essentially the entire wedding planned about 7 months before the big day, and just had to be patient! It didn’t hurt that my mother is also in catering – her industry knowledge and connections really came through.

Washington DC Wedding First Dance

Our first dance was to Bruce Springsteen’s “Thunder Road” and we took a few Arthur Murray lessons to reduce awkwardness. Bruce is Rob’s idol and we have gone to many shows together. It was important to have a song where Rob would feel comfortable dancing!

Sharon’s wedding planning advice for other DC area couples:

Determine what your priorities are and don’t compromise on what’s most important to you! Stick to your budget, which should be the first thing you decide, and don’t forget the small things like postage. I tried on over 80 wedding dresses and my mom offered to double my budget, but I knew that the perfect gown that was in my price range was out there. And it WAS! I was ready to give up and compromise, but I found my dream dress, which I really didn’t think existed.
