Good Monday morning to you! I hope that you all have dug out of last week’s snow and are enjoying a great President’s Day off of work. It’s going to be another lovely week of Washington DC area wedding ideas! Today ,we’re excited to share a supremely gorgeous wedding in DC with a bride who rocked her accessories in all the right ways! Sharon and Robert were married at The Washington Club right on DuPont Circle where their traditional Jewish ceremony was captured by Marcella Treybig Photography. Their custom hand drawn ketubah was created with the interpretation of fire, air, water and Earth—pretty cool and unique, if you ask me! Plus, their chuppah was handmade by Sharon’s mother! We’ll let Sharon tell you more about their inspiration and don’t forget to come back later this morning to see their reception.
From Sharon: We wanted to have a traditional celebration and didn’t really have a theme, although navy blue was our primary color (including my shoes). Our main priority was venue. Trying to find somewhere affordable in DC that’s indoors, accepts outside caterers, and can hold 180 people was a challenge. We splurged a bit on location, but it was well worth it.
I created and printed the programs and menus at the office, using the monogram from our invitation – quick and affordable!
While my husband isn’t Jewish, we did have a traditional Jewish wedding, including a ketubah (purchased from Etsy), chuppah (made by my mother), and kippot.
Thank you so much Sharon and Robert for sharing your wedding ceremony with us! Don’t forget to come back later this morning to see their reception. The following Washington DC area wedding professionals contributed to their wedding:
