I hope you’re ready for lots of romantic wedding inspiration this morning! We’re back with more of the Valentine’s Day wedding series photographed by Rachel May Photography. Did you see the sweet Valentine’s Day wedding dessert and cocktail ideas that we featured yesterday?! If you are getting married in the Washington DC area around Valentine’s Day, you’ll want to take note of how they made the whole wedding inspiration more sophisticated with interesting colors and elegant touches. I love that Fête Studio used an unexpected color like mint green! Who said pretty Valentine’s Day wedding thoughts had to be limited to pink and red hues? Certainly, not I!
From Wendy: We created a wedding inspiration based off Valentine’s Day, but not stereotypical. Valentine’s Day is the Hallmark holiday for love – fun, romantic, sweet and sometimes silly! We all identify red as the color for Valentine’s Day and this can be a hard color to work with because it is bold and loud. We let the red play as the star color in this wedding inspiration and brought in lots of soft colors like mint green, soft pink, peach and whites to make the red pop and tone down the boldness of this gorgeous color!
More from Wendy: Event though it is Valentine’s Day wedding, we didn’t want to be too gushy and romantic, so we added a little twist modern elements like clean and simple china and ghost chairs. We styled the tables in a very organized manner to play off the clean lines of the china and chairs.
I hope that you were as inspired as we were with this post full of Valentine’s Day wedding ideas. A special thank you to all of the Washington, DC area wedding vendors who contributed to this shoot:
