If you have the Monday blues, then today’s classic Washington DC wedding ceremony is the cure! Elizabeth and James’ elegant spring wedding from Victoria Ruan Photography featured a romantic setting with elegant touches for a fun and personal wedding that combines the best the of Washington DC and England. A British groom called for traditional morning suits for the men and fascinators for the bridal party (and some guests, too!). I adore details that reflect such personal elements. Plus, I love a fashionable bridal party!

From Elizabeth: We wanted to create a romantic wedding that was a reflection of us as a couple. We went for a romantic color palette of soft pinks with green accents to tie in with spring. We incorporated peonies (my favorite!) at every opportunity that we could!

Since we didn’t see each other prior to the ceremony, my favorite memory was catching a glimpse of my groom from the back of the church and then the second that I finally made my way to the front of the church, to stand by his side.

Since James is from England, we tried to incorporate some of the traditional elements of a British wedding into our wedding day. James and all of the groomsmen wore traditional morning suits, while the bridesmaids (and many of the guests!) enjoyed wearing festive hats and fascinators! Also, one of our specialty cocktails was Pimms, a traditional summertime favorite in England.
