We are so happy to be starting off this Monday morning with Natalie and Joseph’s Virginia wedding ceremony  from Stephen Bobb Photography. These two cutiespaired rustic touches with Roman Catholic traditions! Aside from all the pretty details – like the stunning floral design from Event Studio – my favorite part of their sweet story is that their first date was their senior prom! The Natalie’s dress was even purchased from the same location that she purchased her prom dress – too cute! We couldn’t get enough of this wedding and thought we’d let the gorgeous bride tell you more about it. Read on, DMV wedding lovers! And, be sure to join us later this morning to see their rustic wedding reception.

From Natalie: I’ve envisioned my wedding exactly as it was for the past decade. I’ve always loved a rustic, warm, romantic feel even before it became such a trend. One of the first questions many people ask a soon-to-be bride is “what are your colors?” I struggled to answer this because I never started with colors or a specific theme, it was about creating the feel I wanted. I’ve always worked in the fashion industry which might be the reason I’m inspired by textures. I love the contrast of mixing soft and beautiful things with unrefined and raw materials. My choices were focused more on texture, movement, and shape rather than color.

No one can deny Pinterest is a great resource. Like many young women out there I had my “dream wedding” board ready to go! It was easy to pull photos of flower arrangements and bouquet ideas. Kelley Truxel from Event Studio was my florist and I don’t even have the words to describe how amazing she was. It didn’t hurt either that we had the same aesthetic and were excited by the same ideas.
