Happy Monday, DMV wedding lovers! Welcome to Kate and Bryan’s country and equestrian inspired wedding… in the city! Yes, that’s right. These Georgetown University alums dreamed of a Virginia wedding by the mountains, but instead brought the country to the city – just wait ’til you see all the fun details from their reception later this morning. Kate and Bryan returned to their alma mater for their Washington DC wedding ceremony before stopping in at a local bar for some pre-ceremony drinks with their wedding party. Alisandra Photography was there to capture all the fun with Cherry Blossom Events making sure it all went off without a hitch. After the ceremony, the couple received a surprise – Georgetown Basketball Coach Thompson stopped by with a signed basketball to give to the couple (who never miss a game!) as a wedding gift!

From Kate: I grew up riding horses in Virginia, and if cost and logistics weren’t considerations, I would have had a big barn wedding in the Blue Ridge Mountains. But because DC is so special to both of us, and our families and friends were traveling in from all over the country, we wanted to try and channel some of that horse country, laid back feel into a city wedding. We stumbled across the Sewall-Belmont House and it ended up being the perfect venue to bring this feel to life.

Bryan and I really met at the Tombs in Georgetown where he was bar tending and I was…enjoying myself. We’ve stopped in there for a drink before every Georgetown wedding we’ve been to together, so decided not to let our own wedding be the exception! That was so fun, and very us.
