There is one word to describe Erin and Nate’s wedding in Maryland: Fun! This cute couple really focused on making sure that not only their guests had a good time, but that they also prioritized their time with family and friends to have a lot of little fun themselves! Jennifer Prophet Photography was with them at Glen Echo Park for their vintage amusement park themed wedding celebration. Right down to the candy bar full of old time candies, they worked within their budget to come up with unique ways to pay homage to a time when both of their dad’s remember going to Glen Echo Park when a functioning amusement park!
From Erin: We wanted to make sure we created an atmosphere that wasn’t stuffy and formal, while still being casually elegant at the same time. We wanted our guests to laugh, smile, dance, and have fun. And what could be a better inspiration for fun than an old amusement park?! We wanted our wedding to be memorable as being full of personality and not a cookie-cutter formal traditional affair. Some of the things that said “fun” to us were the bright pops of color in our flowers and decorations; the nostalgic candy; popcorn machine; photo booth; rockin music; free flowing drinks and of course a venue that exemplifies nostalgic fun at every turn. Keeping the integrity of the vintage theme of the venue was also important. We wanted as much “real” vintage as we could find to provide the finishing touches, not new things made to look vintage. We scoured flea markets and yard sales to find old Coke bottles, vintage tins, gumball machine, etc.
