Welcome back to part two of Jessie and Will’s wedding! They were married at the church Jessie’s great grandparents were married at on Capitol Hill in DC. (Did you see their church wedding ceremony?) For the ride out to Virginia for the reception, they provided a little to-go popcorn snack and drinks. So sweet! With the help of Events in the City, they used the impressive chandeliers at their venue and worked them right into a soft and romantic wedding reception full of flowers and one pretty cake! They also wanted their guests to mix and mingle, so they opted for food stations instead of a sit down meal. k. thompson photography was there to photo all of the love and dancing!
From Jessie: Most of all, my favorite memory of the day was how excessively happy we felt. It was the most special night I’ve ever experienced…being with my new husband and looking around at my parents’ and brothers’ faces, seeing how crazy happy they all were. It was truly magical and I’ll never forget the wonderful feeling that I had all day long.
From Jessie: The groom’s cake was my husband’s college basketball jersey and there was a candy bar set up later in the night.
Jessie’s advice for other couples in the DC area:
Hire a wedding coordinator to help manage the actual day of the wedding! It was so nice having someone tell us where to go and what to do.
