Welcome back to Marta and Todd’s wedding in Georgetown! (Did you see their church wedding ceremony in Georgetown? If not, go check it out first!) After some really amazing portrait photos with Jessica Schmitt Photography celebrating the beauty that is fall in Georgetown, this lovely coupled stepped right into their reception for great, food, lots of fun and dancing. I appreciate the sophisticated color palette of using charcoal and yellow with a little pop of purple. And I especially love that pretty little flower in Marta’s hair!
From Marta: We used an overarching theme that defined us as a couple – wine! Wine was something we learned about and fell in love with together. Since our wedding was taking place in autumn, the theme fit perfectly. For the tables at our reception, we used empty bottles of some of favorite wines to hold the table numbers. There were vases filled with wine corks that we collected over the years. We both felt that food and wine were very important, which is one of the many reasons why we chose the Four Seasons. Todd’s priority was music and a great play list for our DJ, whereas I made sure that the crafty items like ceremony brochures and table pieces were made well. I splurged on my wedding shoes of course! Unlike the dress, the shoes you can wear many times!
From Marta: Our cake topper was of a traditionally dressed Polish couple, which was made in Krakow and given to us as a present form one of our friends. Also, our signature cocktail used an imported Polish vodka known for its distinct taste of bison grass known as Zubrowka. Besides the ceremony and getting married (!), our first dance was our favorite memory. All of our family and friends were cheering for us. We danced to John Denver’s “Country Roads” because West Virginia is where we hit it off on a ski trip almost six years ago.
