I hope you are ready for a dose of timeless elegance today! Lindsey and Andrew were married in northern Virginia at a beautiful country club. Using black, white and a few pops of deep red, they had an elegant wedding with an updated and modern feel. I love that a country club allows you to have a ceremony outside, if the weather is nice. (You know how unpredictable the weather can be in the fall in the DC area!) It was raining the day of their wedding, but a big rainbow came out just in time for the ceremony! Amie Otto Photography was there to take it all in. Don’t forget to come back later this morning to see their reception – you won’t want to miss their desserts and candy bar!

From Lindsay: Andrew and I wanted our wedding to appear timeless in photographs. We went with a very basic and classic color palette, black, red and white, and really wanted to mix a vintage feel with modern updates. More than anything, Andrew and I wanted our wedding to be a reflection of us and the things we love. The majority of our guests were coming from out of town, and with living in Northern Virginia, we also played upon the ‘Virginia is for lovers’ and wine country aspects of our location. All of the personal touches we incorporated really stood out to our guests. We were a very hands-on couple – building and crafting for hours on end.

From Lindsay:  My favorite memory is walking down the stairs to Andrew on the way to our first look. I was so overwhelmed and happy when he turned around and I felt completely at ease. Shortly after that, we got in a golf cart to go to another area of the venue to take more pictures. Well, after about 100 yards, we heard a big rip! My dress had gotten caught in the wheel and completely tore open. With the help of my godmother, one of my bridesmaid’s and our photographer, they were able to sew the wreckage back together and into a faux bustle (my bustle got completely tore off). Not once was I panicked, I actually didn’t even shed a tear until it was fixed. It was beautiful and no one would have ever known. Keep in mind, this is all BEFORE the ceremony. That was when I knew there was no reason to worry. In the most extreme circumstances, with Andrew by my side there was nothing I couldn’t get through.

From Lindsay:  The day of our wedding it was actually raining in Leesburg, and with the elevation at Belmont Country Club, right as my bridal party and I were pulling up to walk down the aisle, a big rainbow appeared across the sky. After all of the emotions I had already experienced that day, I became so overwhelmed I couldn’t help but tear up. It was really magical.
