Welcome to Rebecca and Seelan’s wedding in Maryland! Their wedding day – with over 1,000 guests, might I add – is the perfect combination of elegance and drama. Wait till you see their reception later this morning! Their wedding, photographed by Connor Studios, was at Seelan’s church that he grew up in Bethesda and they had a choir that he was also a part of when he was in college. I just love how, even with such large number of guests, they were able to make their wedding intimate, memorable and very personal for them!
From Rebecca: Seelan and I wanted to have an elegant and memorable wedding day that incorporated elements that reflected our personal style and desires. We were married at Sligo Seventh-Day Adventist church, the church that Seelan grew up in. Since our faith is very important to both of us we wanted our ceremony to be the most memorable part of the day. The Washington Adventist University Pro Musica Choir (which Seelan was apart of in college), the most talented trombone ensemble in area and our favorite organist started off the ceremony. The music and the choir set a regal and high service mood that sent an uplifting tenor throughout the church. Amarllyis designed a natural foilage backdrop wihich played off of the sun filled room.
From Rebecca: Seelan ordered his bespoke tuxedo from his favorite designer Duncan Quinn. It was made from midnight blue mohair with black grosgrain lapels and stripes down the pants. I worked one-on-one with the Israeli based designer Inbal Dror to custom make her dress. It was the first dress worn in the U.S. The low cut back and long train were the most notable details.
