We are back with part two of Meghan and Augy’s gorgeous wedding with load of metallic details. (Did you miss their church wedding ceremony?) Don’t forget to keep scrolling until the end because we have a special treat – video! Meghan and Augy shared their wedding highlight real and it is really fun. You’ll feel like you were a guest! Kara Coleen Photography was there to capture every moment as they moved to their reception at the Key Bridge Marriott, known for its amazing views of Washington, DC!

From Meghan:  Since we have so many out of town family, we wanted them to see DC. That’s why we booked the Key Bridge Marriott, it has an awesome view of Georgetown and DC.  I was having a lot of trouble with the flower budget – I shopped around a lot. Finally, I ended up at Maryams Flowers in Fairfax, and she really gave me a lot of ideas that saved us a lot of money and worked well within our budget.

More from Meghan: We also love live music, and Frank Busso from Sterling Artists worked with our budget and gave us a lot of ways to work live music into our reception. We originally were not going to have a videographer, but we ended up doing it and we are so very glad we did so. Twin Monkey Media did such an amazing job on our highlight reel. We watch it all the time. Also, I bought a lot of belly dancing skirts for next to nothing on ebay, so while the band was taking their breaks, we all belly danced to Arabic pop music. Everyone took them home! We also had the band (sterling artists) play pre-recorded Arabic music when they were taking their breaks.

Meghan’s advice for other DC area couples:

Our guests really loved the DC/VA themed touches. We had gift bags waiting for them at the hotel with four mini Georgetown cupcakes, Virginia peanuts, personalized water bottles, cherry blossom hand sanitizer and soap from Bath and Body Works, Metro maps, and a DC guidebooks. The mini cupcakes were MUCH less expensive then doing the full-sized and the boxes fit in our gift bags perfectly. The cherry blossom soaps/hand sanitizer were inexpensive (especially if you use a coupon), but everyone really appreciated having those things at check in. You can get the metro maps for free, and order the guidebooks for 20 cents each online.

We also had a casual buffet-style post-wedding breakfast. It was well worth the expense. We did not get enough time with our guests at the wedding, and this gave us extra time to see our out-of-town friends and family. It was a very special time!
