What is gold and elegant all over? Meghan and Augy’s wedding in Virginia just over the Key Bridge in Arlington was so refined and pretty! And, when you see their reception just a little bit later you’ll see all the fun they had too! Right down to the sparkly belt on her wedding dress, I love all of the metallic details from their wedding captured by Kara Coleen Photography. Meghan is going to do a better job than me in describing her wedding to Augy, so I’ll let her take over!
From Meghan: Our colors were ivory and gold. We tried to incorporate the theme from our invitations into our programs, flowers, favors, groomsmen ties, table linens, candy buffet, chargers, and bridesmaids dresses. We wanted to have a fun and elegant wedding. We made sure our wedding theme carried through. We used the same vendor for our save the dates, invitations, programs, place card names, table names, menu, and signs (for candy buffet, guest book, gift table etc).
More from Meghan: We had 3 pregnant bridesmaids, which was stressful regarding sizing and type of dress, so we decided to just let our bridesmaids wear whatever dress they wanted, as long as it was in the gold family. I think the non-matchy matchy turned out really well. We saved a bit of money because we had the groomsmen just wear black suits. Most everyone has a good black suit. This was really appreciated by our groomsmen. We provided them gold ties and cufflinks. It looked great!
More from Meghan: We had a traditional Coptic Orthodox wedding ceremony at St. Marks Coptic Orthodox Church. We are ever so grateful to Fr. Anthony Messeh from St. Timothy and St. Athanasius Coptic Orthodox Church in Arlington, VA. He also provided us our pre-marital counseling and we are so happy he could marry us. It made the day even more special to have him there with us! We love him! One of our favorite moments was during our Coptic Orthodox crowning ceremony. We got to sit in thrones and wear crowns during our wedding ceremony to symbolize that we are starting our own family. We provided the traditional Egyptian favors of five jordan almonds at the church packaged with a small photo of us along with a program explaining the Coptic Orthodox Wedding Ceremony.
Thank you so much Meghan and Augy for sharing your wedding ceremony with us! Don’t forget to come back for their reception. The following Washington DC area wedding vendors contributed to their wedding:
