To celebrate their 10th wedding anniversary, Amanda and Gabe decided on a simple and intimate vow renewal ceremony with just themselves, their kids and their pastor along the eastern shore in Maryland. And, Jill Christine Design & Photography was there at the Wicomico River in St. Mary’s County too! I love that Amanda DIY’d a few bouquets of flowers from their back yard and that they surprised their kids with the whole ceremony!
From Amanda: We had been discussing doing a vow renewal for our 10 year anniversary. When we started planning however, things started to add up and the stress started to mount. It was then we decided to ‘elope’ in our own back yard. We told only the photographer and our pastor. Our kids didn’t know until we started to get ready! In the end, it was exactly what we wanted: simple.
More from Amanda: Since I am a photographer, photography was a high priority! I made all the bouquets from flowers in our yard. This time, our children got to witness our love and commitment to each other. That’s priceless. God willing, we will do this again in another 10 years!
Amanda’s advice for other couples in the DC area: Keep it simple. Keep it unique to YOU. Keep the focus on the marriage and not just on the wedding.
Thank you so much, Amanda and Gabe, for sharing your vow renewal with us! The following Washington DC area wedding vendors contributed to their wedding:
