Happy Monday! We have one festive and fun wedding in Virginia for you! Jen and Josh’s wedding was such a beautiful picture of the blending of two cultures. Jen grew up Italian Catholic and Josh grew up Jewish, and they did an amazing job of representing both of their families in their wedding. They had both a Jewish rabbi and a Catholic priest officiate their wedding ceremony at the Hotel Monaco Alexandria and they signed a Ketubah before the wedding all captured by Rebekah Hoyt Photography. There were a few other blended traditions that you’ll have to wait to see later this morning at their reception. Their day looked like it was was full of love and laughter and it was so beautifully colorful!
From Jen: We wanted our wedding to be festive, colorful, and full of our own personal touches. We were thrilled to have a Jewish cantor and my Catholic priest conduct the ceremony. We had instrumental versions of pop songs playing before and during the ceremony to keep up the party atmosphere. Our primary color was royal blue, with purple and apple green accents. I took inspiration from the wallpaper at the venue to use as the pattern on our stationary. The DIY projects were a lot of work, but they were worth it to make the day really feel like our own!
Thank you so much Jen and Josh for sharing your colorful wedding ceremony with us! Come back in a little bit to see their reception. The following Washington DC area wedding professionals contributed to their wedding:
