If you want to do a modern wedding in Washington, DC then there are few places as perfect at the W Hotel. It is right downtown (convenient for out-of-town guests!) and one of the chicest hotels in the city. Annie and Hyun wanted to keep it modern, chic and fun, but also infuse loads of personal and DIY touches (Just wait till you see their reception later this morning for some of the DIY gems!) Pier 23 Photography was with them on their wedding day for their wedding ceremony followed by a traditional Korean Pyebaek.

From Annie:  I wanted a modern and chic wedding with a hint of cuteness.  The bright color green, also knows as appletini, gave our wedding the chic character while our flowers, billy balls, succulents and pinwheels very much illustrated the modern and cute character of our wedding.  Our vision for our special day was to bring all those who were blessings in our lives into one room and party in style.  And we were able to do just this!

More from Annie: Both Hyun and I are Korean, and during cocktail hour we had the traditional Korean ceremony.  I specifically wanted to include the Korean ceremony during our special day, because being Korean-American is special to both of us and we also wanted our friends to enjoy the cultural experience. I love the colors of the hanbok, which is the traditional Korean attire.
