Welcome back for more of Annie and Hyun’s modern wedding in Washington DC! (Be sure to check out their wedding ceremony and Korean Pyebaek.) I can’t get enough of the pinwheels and the bright pops of apple green! With Pier 23 Photography on-hand they kept all of the fabulous details and fun times going right on into their reception!
From Annie: I wanted to include as many personal and DIY touches as possible. The project that the took the most hands and time were the pinwheels for all our guests. These pinwheels were used as seating cards. I wanted our seating cards to be unique and something the guests could take home. The straws and papers that I used to make the pinwheels brought the modern and chic style that I wanted in my wedding. I also made the table numbers. My bridesmaids also drew and painted our guest sign-in poster. Hyun and I have been truly blessed by our friends and family and I wanted something that would not only show that to our guests, but also remind us everyday.
More from Annie: The coffee bean bar, I believe, symbolized the important things in our lives, family, friends and of course coffee! One of the things I love is to go to grab coffee with friends and to catch up. And, one day Hyun and I hope to own a coffee shop. We bought different types of coffee beans and also customized the bags to say “Family, Friends & Coffee Make the Perfect Blend.” We also included mini caramel waffles and biscottis for the guests to take home.
Annie’s advice for other DC area couples:
You could have the best venue, the best food, and the best lighting, but it really becomes your wedding when you put your style and touches on it. This could be as simple as including your favorite colors or even getting ready in running shorts. I know it’s a lot of work, but it is the DIY stuff that makes it your wedding. Also, make sure you think of all the types of pictures you want to take the day of and give that list to your photographer so that he can capture every moment.
