After their outdoor garden wedding ceremony in the city, Michelle and David headed inside to the ballroom for loads of dessert and dancing! Once again, Michelle didn’t disappoint in the paper goods department either with plenty of pretty signage. Procopio Photography was there and able to capture just perfectly the timeless, classic Washington DC feel they were going for on their wedding day.

From Michelle: Our family and friends are very important to us. We wanted to include special touches like our ‘wishing tree’ and our family wedding photo display. We also wanted to do a little special detail for our escort cards by having the key tags written by our calligrapher and tied to antique skeleton key, hung from a vintage style frame. Additionally, we really enjoy hand crafted cocktails so we knew we needed a special signature drink. We did research at one of our favorite D.C. “speakeasy” spots The Columbia Room, who helped us come up with our drink.

Here is Michelle’s advice for other DC wedding planning couples:

Start planning early and don’t stress the details. SOMETHING won’t go your way during the planning process, even if it’s just a tiny detail. If you give yourself as much time as possible, it gives you time to think of a “plan B” with out stressing too much. You don’t want to be running around the whole week leading up to your wedding. Planning ahead will allow you to enjoy that time with your friends and family instead of being up all night folding programs and cutting ribbons.
