Today’s wedding is all about nature! Jenn describes her wedding in Maryland to Zach as “whimsical outdoor elegance” and that’s exactly what they achieved! Soft white and ivory florals, eclectic vases together with natural elements like burlap, wood and moss to perfectly tie it all together. Shauna from Photography du Jour captured all of the little details that the couple worked to hard to gather and also took some amazing portraits of the two love birds in the forest in between their ceremony and reception. I don’t know if I would have gotten in the stream in that pretty little dress, but Jenn did! Don’t forget to come back later this morning for more of this sweet family affair!
From Jenn: “Whimsical outdoor elegance… I got a lot of funny looks from family, friends, and vendors when I told them my ‘design concept.’ I wanted to include green as one of my colors, but only use natural elements like moss and leaves. Lots of fabric, an eclectic collection of glass bottles, antlers and teapots gave it that whimsical touch while twinkling lights, banquet style tables and candles made it an elegant event. Using nature’s color palette I felt like I was able to create a timeless wedding.”
From Jenn: Zach and I went out in the Maryland countryside looking for some weathered wood to use as decorations and we came across an old barn that looked perfect. As we got closer we realized that we weren’t alone and nearly jumped out of our skins when a giant vulture flew out of the rafters! We quickly gathered what we would use for the decor and got out of there. Zach’s grandparents also created a hand stitched quilt incorporating some of our favorite colors and my cousin created the letterpress invitations.
Don’t worry, there will be more of Jenn and Zach’s naturally gorgeous wedding in a bit. In the meantime, the following Washington DC area wedding vendors contributed to their wedding:
