We are back with part two of Jenn and Zach’s nature inspired wedding in Maryland where they were able to bring the outside to the inside for their reception with lots of little touches. Did you miss part on of their ceremony? With their venue being a lodge, they were able to truly get that rustic vibe as captured by Photography du Jour. And, I love that the only color came from moss and leaves! It was a true family affair with loads of family and friends coming together to help these newlyweds pull of their reception – everything from hanging twinkle lights to tying bows. What’s not to love about that!?
From Jenn: It makes me chuckle now when I look back and remember getting married in the morning and having both of our families helping set up for the evening reception from 1-6….in our reception attire! My dad and brothers were hanging off of scaffolding to get the twinkle lights up and grandpa was tying bows on to chairs. Everyone was working on something, but it in the end it all came together. It just makes me realize what a great family I have and what a great family I married in to.
From Jen: Flowers and photos were the top priority because the floral arrangements would be in all the photos and the photos are what last the longest! But seriously, I wanted to bring the outdoors in and really highlight the beauty of our log cabin venue. Our food was delicious, especially a little splurge to get some Amish cakes.
Jenn and Zach’s advice for other DC area wedding planning couples:
Make sure you LOVE your photographer and Maid of Honor. They will become your right and left hand and see the details that you might have missed. A wedding can be stressful, but don’t forget to enjoy the time spent together planning and bonding. You learn a lot about your spouse-to-be in stressful situations. My wedding was my dream wedding with my dream husband. I wouldn’t do anything differently!
