Oooo, we have the sweetest, most intimate wedding in Old Town Alexandria for you today! Maybe it is Heather’s beautifully simple sunflower bouquet, or because she is pregnant (expecting in August!) or maybe I’m just a sucker for a man in uniform, but everything about Heather and Gabriel’s wedding from Jessica Veltri Photography is just so sweet! They wanted to keep it small and personal, and they sure did with an outdoor ceremony, using the gorgeous gardens as their backdrop, and a dinner with close family and friends. (And, they were married on a weekday – such a great money-saving idea!)
From Heather: We wanted simple yet elegant. We married in a gazebo surrounded by gardens. Our reception dinner was held at a restaurant that overlooked the waterfront. Both locations were ideal for pictures, and had that romantic factor we were looking for. Our main priority was making sure we had a wedding on a very tight budget. The locations of both the wedding and the reception dinner were the most important to us.
More from Heather: Seeing my husband dressed in his Army blues walk towards me on the old style, brick garden path was breath taking.
Heather and Gabriel’s advice for other DC-area couples planning a wedding:
Go affordable. Look for great deals. By getting married on a weekday, we avoided crowds and extra costs. We also made sure the reception dinner and the wedding location were walk-able distance from each other because trying to drive around this city and find parking can be quite difficult!
