I’m absolutely in love with how Valerie describes her Maryland wedding to Michael… “A Garden by the Bay.” Talk about the best of both worlds! Soft, sweet hues for the florals, pastel blue for the ‘maids and a bayside ceremony site, just as Michael requested! Every detail of this dreamy day was captured beautifully by Jacqueline of Readyluck, just take a look!
From Valerie: Michael, my husband had one request when we were looking for a wedding venue, he wanted to get married on the Eastern Shore of Maryland on the Chesapeake Bay. Michael is from Ocean City, Maryland and I am from Baltimore, so it seemed fitting to get married right in the middle in Kent Island at the beautiful Chesapeake Bay Beach Club. And, he was nice enough to be okay with us getting married on his birthday, so how could I say no? We fell in love with the Chesapeake Bay Beach Club immediately and knew it was where we wanted to get married. I wanted a “garden by the bay” wedding and it worked well with the perfectly manicured lawns and beautiful ballroom, where we strung lights above the dance floor so it felt like we were dancing outside under the stars.
While drawing up inspiration for the day, I knew that I wanted my wedding to feel like a dream. Tons of beautiful flowers, a soft color palette and the most beautiful day you could ask for really made it feel like one.
I walked down the aisle to “Sweet Disposition” by the Temper Trap because they are from Australia and I swear I heard that song every day while we were there in 2010. I knew back then that I would walk down the aisle to it, and although I was nervous about whether it would work, I think it worked perfectly. I’m glad that I picked a contemporary song, I love sitting in a bar or driving home from work and how when that song comes on, I’m taken back to that moment. Walking toward my groom, I felt like I was walking on clouds with the baby’s breath lining the aisle.
Our favorite part of the day was after the ceremony; we took a few minutes just the two of us to take in the beautiful sunset and feel the breeze, the really magical part about it was that even though there was no rain in the forecast, there was a slight rainbow
