Nothing like kicking off the first week of July with a wedding that makes you yearn for fall, eh!? Well, no matter how into summer we are, I don’t think any of us will get tired of seeing the amazing hues Autumn brings about around these parts. And Jill and Brian made it a point to capitalize on that for their sophisticated Washington DC wedding, captured by The Observatory. Moody fall shades and dahlias galore…. is it October yet??
From Jill: We’ve both lived in DC for many years, so we really wanted to show our guests what we love about the city. Fall in DC is our favorite season, so we sought to blend a fall color palette with the sophistication and charm of the city. The neighborhoods of our wedding events (Georgetown, the West End, the federal downtown) gave us ideas and ultimately, translated to very classic elements.
Having the ceremony in Georgetown was meaningful–I went to college there and am an active member of St. John’s, the church where we got married. Seeing the colorful fall leaves lining Georgetown’s beautiful cobblestone streets was a lovely sight when we exited the church as a married couple!
