Remember when I said that we were doing a series all summer long on the wedding venue search in the DC area?? Ok, well here we go! We’ve talked to a few of the best wedding planners in the DC area and first we got their tips for venue hunting in the DC area. Next, we asked their opinion on the best wedding venues for a guest list of 75 people or under. If you are looking for a venue and want the real scoop, there is no better person to ask then a wedding planner! Here is that they had to say about the best wedding venues for 75 guests or under…
“If you are in this wedding guest size, I highly recommend that you check out restaurants with private dining options. There are so many choices out there! I am going to recommend the Red Fox Inn in Middleburg, Virginia. They have private dining rooms as well as a beautiful courtyard space. Plus, the benefits of having your guest rooms on site are numerous. To name one, you will save on transportation cost.” – from Janice, owner of Bellwether Events
Two votes for the Lorien Hotel!
“Lorien Hotel & Spa in Old Town, Alexandria. It has a certain intimacy in their outdoor courtyards and their two small ballrooms. It is also catered by Brabo which is always a plus!” – from Amanda at Engaging Affairs

“Thomas Birkby House in Leesburg, Virginia. I love the Birkby House for a few reasons: First, it’s an historic property and it has the expected beauty and charm in spades. Second, the owners have clearly given a lot of thought to how best to use the property’s space. Everything flows well and is easy to use.” – from Stephanie, owner of Pretty Entertaining

“The Army Navy Club in Washington, DC. The staff is amazing and it provides the glamour and elegance for any wedding affair, plus it is in the heart of the city. Also, the food is phenomenal.” – from Tara, owner of Perfect Planning
Two votes for 2941!
“2941 Restaurant in Falls Church, VA. I love the modern feel of the architecture and how they have the most amazing views from their floor to window glass walls. The building is so nondescript,as it is located in the bottom of a high rise office building, but when you pull up you are immediately swept away by the waterfalls, koi ponds, and beautiful trees around the lake. Inside the food and staff are amazing and they always go above and beyond with great wedding day service.” – from Tabitha, owner of Roberts & Co. Events
“The Dumbarton House in Washington, DC. It feels like a real DC home and the backyard is lovely and traditional. Its hasa quirky garden atmosphere that is perfect right now and on trend.” – from Laura, at Events in the City

“B&O American Brasserie in Baltimore, MD. It’s in the gorgeous Hotel Monaco Baltimore, which has about a million amazing places for photos. The food is insanely delicious and creative, as are the drinks. And they have a great, unusual set up there that you can do lots of creative things with!” from Rebecca, at Blue Canary Events
