We’re kicking the week off with a classic Georgetown wedding ceremony, followed by a contemporary reception (Up next!), from Bellwether Events! Allison and Heath had a traditional Catholic ceremony and mass, personalized with an intimate and meaningful couple’s prayer, written by the two themselves. There are so many sweet moments below, captured by Paul Morse, from their first look to their walk back down the aisle as husband and wife.

From Allison: Our priorities from the beginning were ease and comfort for our guests and photography. We had a lot of out of town guests and we wanted the wedding and reception to be close and convenient. We had a lot more handmade details throughout our wedding than I ever set out to have. Once I got started, I couldn’t help but add more personal touches!

I will always cherish our “first look.” I was so nervous all morning and could not wait to see Heath. It was such an intimate and special moment. We also got some of our favorite photos during our first look!

My second favorite memory was reading our “couples prayer.” We were able to personalize our otherwise traditional Catholic ceremony by writing and reciting our own prayer. During our prayer, we thanked God for the gifts we each brought to our relationship and asked for guidance throughout our marriage. Heath ended the prayer by saying, “Please guide us through life’s challenges, always able to look to each other for insight, caring and solace. When we face difficulty, let us always remember that we are stronger together. And let us never forget that the joys and adventures in life are so much more fulfilling when they are shared with the one you love.” Our prayer is still one of my favorite keepsakes from our wedding and one we will look back to often.
