When it comes to local DC area wedding locations, you may think that you’ve considered every possible option— but, trust us, there are plenty of alternative venue spaces to consider for your big day. We recently talked about some of our favorite Maryland wedding venues, but we couldn’t stand the thought of leaving out our Virginia couples. Here are ten wedding venue ideas you might not have considered from the rolling hills of Charlottesville to the bustling streets of Alexandria—happy venue hunting! Ultra romance and Southern Charm come together at Pippin Hill Farm & Vineyards, a vineyard and winery just outside of Charlottesville. This custom-built destination wedding venue boasts Farm to Table in-house catering, gorgeous architectural details and stunning mountain-view panoramas. The Bespoke Wedding Service Package offers space for up to 250 guests.

Since we’re seeing lots of Art Deco and Gatsby-inspired wedding, The Carlyle Club just had to make our list! The vintage vibe of this Alexandria venue is more than meets the eye, as it’s more than a restaurant or music venue, but a supper club and full-entertainment experience that will add a unique distinction to set your wedding apart from a predictable wedding venue. It can accommodate 180 guests for a seated dinner and dance floor.

Head on over to Leesburg to experience the lush gardens of Historic Morven Park. This historic property offers the splendor of a mansion or the stateliness of the beautiful gardens for a celebration of any size, with a variety of event spaces.

Since its opening in the early 20s and a complete renovation, The George Washington Hotel combines a modern elegance and a historical legacy. Located in Winchester, Virginia in the Shenandoah Valley, this venue features elegant marble flooring and soaring ceilings for a lavish affair. The Grand Ballroom can seat up to 180 guests for a seated dinner, and up to 300 people for a strolling reception.

Once the location of a popular watering hole during the 1940s and 50s, the artfully restored Old Metropolitan Hall features two floors of splendor and modern design. Upstairs you’ll find the original antique tin tiles exquisitely lit with era-inspired glass chandeliers while downstairs you’ll find an intimate setting with black and white diamond flooring.

I can only imagine how exquisite is would be to exchange wedding vows on 12 acres of lush greens at Eden Try, a Fredericksburg manor. Elegant fountains, extraordinary landscaping and a winding driveway fit for a princess-like ride with a horse and carriage arrival, this venue is a destination dream. For an outdoor event, the capacity is virtually unlimited!

Your winery wedding at  Early Mountain Vineyards in Madison, Virginia features panoramic views of the Blue Ridge foothills with plenty of event spaces to “wow” your guests. Take advantage of the natural beauty on the lawn for an outdoor ceremony and gather indoors in the grand event  hall for old-time elegance.

The Airlie Center enjoys 1,200 acres of secluded Virginia hills and cuisine prepared with ingredients from Airlie’s own organic garden. The natural splendor of this Warrenton, Virginia wedding location is enhanced by the formal gardens and breathtaking views and can accommodate up to 200 guests for your rehearsal dinner, wedding and reception.

 Nestled within the Meadowlark Botanical Gardens, the The Atrium at Meadowlark Botanical Gardens overlooks 95 acres of perfectly manicured lawns in Vienna, Virginia. Even while indoors, you and your guests will still feel the ambiance of the outdoors with a two-thousand square foot skylight, a babbling stream leading to an indoor fountain and live trees adorned with twinkle lights. The Atrium can accommodate up to 230 seated guests for a reception and up to 300 standing guests.

Breaux Vineyards, a 400 acre estate, is home to some of the most beautiful views of rolling vines in Purcellville, Virginia. With an expansive private setting extending up the Short Hill Mountain, Breaux Vineyards features several event locations, our favorite spaces including The Acadia Room (which can accommodate up to 150 guests) featuring a grand fireplace and a breathtaking panoramic view; and The Lafayette Terrace, an outdoor elevated situated within the vines.
