We’re back with part two of Gail and David’s Woodend wedding from EVOKE, and I hope you’re ready for a drastic change from a minimal, all-natural outdoor wedding ceremony to a dramatic, indigo-hued reception! I love the idea of surprising your guests with a refreshing new look at the reception, and Gail and David did just that. Be sure to take note of the impeccable little details, like the calligraphed tile place cards, too. These aren’t to be missed!
From Gail: I chose Indigo as the lead color in part for its ability to be dramatic when amplified. It was important to me that our guests experienced a marked shift in mood and intensity as they entered the reception, contrasting with the natural, easygoing elegance of the ceremony.
Gail’s advice to other DC-area couples:
Set your priorities early, and focus on those priorities first. The DC area is so full of marvelous, experienced vendors that you will have more fun and unique options than you can possibly use. If you stay true to what’s most important to you, you will have a beautiful occasion that both you and your guests will be talking about for years.
